This is the 5 story Pagoda on the grounds where the Big Buddha is located. It is the highest wooden Pagoda and most famous Pagoda in Japan. The way is was built it absorbs earthquake tremors by swinging like a pendulum.
The entrance of the "BIG BUDDHA" as commonly known by around here was lined with colorful flags. The grounds were beautifully kept and the air was filled with the smell of incense that was burned in all of the ceremonial buildings.
This is a garden pond that is surrounded by brick and rock foot prints with sand under each footprint from 88 different temples around Japan.
Here is "Big Buddha" known as the 2nd largest Buddha in Japan.
Another one of the buildings on the property with religious ceremonial meaning.
This beautiful building marks the entrance to the trek up to Big Buddha
After our trip to the Buddha we went to soccer practice for Natalie and Spencer.
we then met Ryan at the Kappa Sushi restaurant, commonly known as Sushi-Go-Round. There are little conveyer belts going by each table and you grab whatever food you want. All kinds of sushi, drinks, and desserts are tempting you as they move by. It was quite the experience with four hungry children. You collect the plates on your table when you are done and they add them up and give you the bill.......that seems a little scary to me. We ended up with 50 plates. It was really fun and delicious.

Then we went to "Train Park" in the middle of town. It was getting dark and the lanterns were turned on. The park was full of blooming cherry blossoms so we took some night shots. It was very beautiful and the weather was so nice you could go without coats. It seems that every minute is full of new, fun, interesting and wonderful adventures. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.......maybe a little rain they say.......oh well, can't complain
